LISS exercise: What is it and should you be doing it?

Forget HIIT, low intensity steady state cardio (LISS) could be the perfect form of exercise for you.
Currently trending on Instagram, LISS, also known as Low Intensity Steady State Cardio, is a less intense form of fitness. So unlike its big brother HIIT (High Intensity Interval training) it’s something that all of us can do.

Founder of Exercise in the City and pilates instructor Julia Scodie says: ‘I’m really pleased that LISS workouts are getting some attention. Higher intensity workouts have their benefits but sweating it out at the gym or studio is not for everyone.’

 ‘If you’re new to exercise or trying getting back into fitness, a HIIT class may knock your confidence – especially if you’re struggling to do one burpee and everyone around you is on their third!’
